Can I Still Be Taught?

How do we become a woman who is not controlled or ruled by our emotions and feelings?  Proverbs 13:10 “Only by pride cometh contention; but with the well advised is wisdom.”

We need to be well advised!  We need to go to the Book of Wisdom.  A wise woman is always learning and open to learning any way she can get it!

Proverbs 12:15 “The way of the fool (proud, stubborn, lazy one) is right in his own eyes; but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”

A woman that doesn’t take God seriously enough to get into His rule book has no fear of God.  How can I say that?  Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”  The Bible teaches this truth.

Are you a teachable woman? Proverbs 9:9 “Give instruction to a wise man and he will be yet wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.”

None of us have arrived, ladies.  The secret to spiritual mindedness as a wife and helpmeet is found in Proverbs 9:9.  Just be teachable!

One of the hardest things you will ever do as a wife is to stay happy, spiritually positive and completely trusting and resting in the Lord, in spite of the spiritual direction your husband may be going!   Too many wives allow their joy to depart and plop themselves down in the pity pit, crabbing about their spiritual derelict of a husband.  That is ungodly behavior!  Why not live what you say YOU are?  When you turn into a doubting, discouraged Christian wife, you are dishonoring God right along with your husband.  You are also teaching your children that the Christian life is a sad state to have to endure.

Get out of the pit of despair and walk in the Spirit.  Practice what you say you believe about the power of God.  Stay faithful in church and daily devotions with the Lord.   Be an encourager to other women. Refuse to wallow and let the “joy of the Lord be your strength”!

God’s perfect will for your life as a wife…is to be a good help meet.

Sin will cause you to self-destruct and you’ll have no one to blame but yourself.  Often times, our critical, depressed attitude is far worse than our husband’s bad habits and sinful ways.

We need wisdom to think right.  Seek for it while there is still hope!
