What’s Wrong With Living in a Pig Sty?
"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." Colossians 1:16-17
Everywhere we look in our world…we see the Hand of God. Nothing about our planet or the human body could have just happened. There had to be a Master Designer to bring order and perfect precision for both. Our God is a God of order. He has never been the author of confusion or disorder.
Since we know this to be a true fact, why is it that so many homes live in disarray and complete chaos? There is absolutely no reason for a home to have on-going bad odors, piles of dirty laundry (or piles of clean, unfolded, uncared for laundry), accumulated dust and dirt, toys left discarded day- in and day- out or trash waiting to be dumped! God is a God of order and a helpmeet who bears His name, ought to look more like her Master in word and deed.
Ladies, don't let that man of yours look like yesterday's dirty shirt. Do his laundry. Make sure his clothes are either pressed or taken immediately from the dryer and hung up so that he doesn't have to look uncared for. If your husband doesn't look neat and tidy, that reflects poorly on his helpmeet….YOU! There is nothing spiritual about baggy, wrinkly pants and shirts. Help your man to get a haircut when he needs one. Keep an eye on his outward appearance. I've cut my husband's hair for 38 years now and I'm usually the one who has to say… "honey, I think it's time for another hair cut". He's a busy man and may let it go longer than would be appropriate. I want him to look his best every time he walks out the door. I watch to be sure everything matches. I look to see whether his clothing is looking tattered or unkempt. That's my responsibility!
Every Christian woman should take seriously the physical condition of her home and her husband. That's our job! That is our calling! Shut the TV off. Pull the plug on social networking and let's stay about the business that God put us here for, in the first place.
Our God of order is pleased when we take the time every day for neatness and cleanness.
How are you doing in the care and cleaning of your home and family?

I think I better get up and clean my house!
Thank you for this post! this is something I have always seen you live by example in... I know I enjoy doing house work... I know I'm crazy but I love being suesy home maker :) that is what God has called me to be and I am enjoying it :) It was hard being on bed rest. One of the first things I was excited to be able to do was my house work.
So thank you for your encouragement to get up and clean! :)
