Does My Man Need Encouragement?
Written By Sheryl Shaffer
A woman’s work is never done and in the hubbub and busyness of life we can get so focused on our to-do list that we fail to nurture our relationship with our own husband. If you have young children in the home, they can very easily become the focus of your existence and your poor husband can get the leftovers…if there are any to get! Every wife needs to remind herself that her husband needs attention too. He may be more understanding than your demanding four year old, but he too, craves your attention.
What are some encouraging things that your husband could be benefited by?Here are four simple things that will strike a chord in his heart and send a message of love and encouragement.
Give them a try!
1. Pray for him. Praying for your husband out loud, in front of him is one of the most powerful things you can do for your husband. Pray a prayer thanking God for him. Pray for wisdom for all the life choices he must make for you and the family. Pray for his strength to labor on your behalf. Let him hear you pray for him.
2. Listen to him. Make sure he knows that what he has to say is really important to you. Take the time to look him in the eye when he is speaking to you. Most men are less verbal than women, so making sure he knows that his words are important enough for you to give him your full focus, is very valuable to your relationship.
3. Look at him like another woman would! If you don’t put a log on the fire….another woman will!
4. Remind yourself every day that it is your God given responsibility to be your husband’s wife and a mother to his children. Remembering that will encourage him in return.
Proverbs 31:11 “The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.”
